Indy 500 Weekend Is Here… and We Have a Confession

Race weekend brings Indianapolis to life with checkered flags, packed streets, and that unmistakable May-in-Indy energy.

There are some weekends in Indianapolis that just feel different.

The city gets louder. The restaurants fill up. Checkered flags start popping up everywhere. And suddenly, everyone becomes a traffic strategist, weather analyst, and professional race fan overnight.

That can only mean one thing:

Indy 500 weekend is here.

The 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is happening Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Indianapolis is officially in full race-week mode.

It is one of the most exciting weekends of the year in our city — busy, festive, a little chaotic, and packed with that unmistakable May-in-Indy energy.

Basically, Indianapolis has had three iced coffees and put on a racing helmet.

Our Very Hoosier Confession

Graphic with checkered flags and Indianapolis skyline that says Mike and Alex have lived in Indianapolis their whole lives but have never been to the Indy 500.
Our very Hoosier confession: we’ve lived in Indianapolis our whole lives and somehow still haven’t made it to the Indy 500.

We have lived in Indianapolis our whole lives…

And we have never been to the Indy 500.

Yes, we know.

Please don’t revoke our Hoosier cards.

It is basically like living in Wisconsin and never eating cheese curds. Or living in Florida and never seeing an alligator casually minding everyone’s business. Somehow, despite being surrounded by the tradition, the excitement, and the roar of race weekend every single year, we still have not made it to the track.

One day, we’ll fix this.

Probably.

Maybe.

Hold us accountable.

Why We Love Indy 500 Weekend Anyway

Even if you are not sitting in the stands, Indy 500 weekend is one of the most fun times to be in Indianapolis.

The city comes alive with visitors, events, packed patios, race-day cookouts, and people trying to figure out which roads to avoid like they are solving a national security puzzle.

There is nothing quite like it.

For homeowners, hosts, guests, and local businesses, race weekend is also one of the biggest weekends of the year. People come from all over to experience Indianapolis, and we love getting to be a small part of making their stay feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy.

We Are Fully Booked… Almost

We are excited to share that we are fully booked for Indy 500 weekend.

And we are so grateful for every guest choosing to stay with us during one of Indianapolis’ most iconic weekends.

That said…

There may be one tiny last-minute opportunity.

We have a cute 1 bed / 1 bath unit that could potentially be available for a last-minute booking. There are still a couple of final details left before we officially open it up, but for the most part, it is complete — and it is looking adorable.

Think cozy, clean, comfortable, and ready to be someone’s race-weekend home base.

So, if you know someone still scrambling for a place to stay for Indy 500 weekend, tell them not to panic just yet. There may still be a small window of opportunity.

And in race weekend terms, finding a last-minute stay in Indianapolis is basically like finding a good parking spot on Race Day — rare, beautiful, and slightly miraculous.

Happy Race Week, Indianapolis

Whether you are heading to the track, hosting friends, watching from home, or avoiding traffic like it personally offended you, we hope you have a fun and safe Indy 500 weekend.

Indianapolis, this is your moment.

And maybe next year, we will finally be in the stands instead of confessing our lifelong local shame on the internet.

Happy Race Week!
